SHIPLAPPED HALLWAY

Welcome to our great room and just off the main living area is the master bedroom suite. The outer hall is highly visible and leads to a guest bath. This can be seen opposite the mudroom and I felt it needed some oomph to balance the mudroom.

I was still figuring out where to put furniture pieces and actually prefer the area empty. The first thing I did was to remove the ivy hall light for something more “us”. The ivy light went home with my Mom and Dad.  I chose a gooseneck farmhouse style light fixture and swapped it out by myself with my newly learned electrical skills 🙂

Love the way the light casts an arched glow! I added an Edison bulb in for soft light. As you see I was still playing with furniture here. Always playing…

I decided I wanted to add some texture to the wall. The mudroom was painted a bright white and I wanted to echo that with a white wall in the hallway. I used wood planks to shiplap the wall.

HALL OUTSIDE MASTER

✅Shiplap one wall

✅paint shiplap

✅swap out light fixture

-Paint the rest of the hall white

Planked and primed in this photo with little to no furniture in sight. Love the simplicity.

Last change was painting the clover mirror to the left of the door black. It ties in with the black on the wet bar and the black gooseneck light fixture.

Eventually I need to paint the rest of the walls in the hall white. Since they aren’t visible from the great room they didn’t take priority yet!

And that’s the little hall transformation from top to bottom. Sometimes the smallest spaces can be the sweetest spaces🖤
